Fellows are supported in their personal and professional growth, gain international perspectives and innovative approaches to apply to their work, and share their insights and experiences while raising their international profile.
The Fellowship expands participants’ self-confidence and courage to dream, and aim, big by opening up access to role models and global networks of leaders, across age groups, geographies, and divides.
Salzburg Global highlights and makes visible Fellows’ ideas and voices through partnerships, materials, and products, including being featured on our communications channels such as via articles, newsletters, and social media.

Rolling 2024: Mentoring Pairings (Online)
Following a mentoring-needs analysis, Fellows will be matched with experienced professionals from within the broader PPNVE and Salzburg Global networks. The Mentoring relationship lasts for around 9 months from the point at which the Fellow and Mentor are matched.
Professional Experience Opportunities (Rolling)
To support Fellows with sharing their ideas and building their public profile, a number of professional experience opportunities are available each year. These may include internships or shadowing opportunities with partners, companies, and institutions working in the fields of politics and/or public policy. It could take the form of field trips or educational tours to locations of relevance to European public policy, such as visits to a variety of offices and organizations in Brussels, Belgium. Fellows also have the opportunity to present their ideas to a global audience of policymakers and expand their networks through participation in conferences such as the Creative Bureaucracy Festival in Berlin, and the Diversify Nordics Summit in Oslo.
Peer Mentoring and Support Network (Virtual, On-Going)
The Public Policy New Voices programs maintain an active network of more than 90 Fellows from across Europe. Network members connect with one another through regional gatherings, can participate in virtual peer mentoring sessions with their cohort, and in transatlantic peer mentoring with the PPNV USA program.
In addition, members of Public Policy New Voices Europe become lifetime members of the Salzburg Global Fellowship network, which in 77 years numbers more than 40,000 Fellows from over 170 countries.
Public Policy Challenge Program (Four days, in-person, Salzburg)
12 to 16 October, 2025
Each year, the Public Policy New Voices Europe Fellowship focuses on a challenge that is affecting Europe. For 2025, the Public Policy Challenge topic is ‘Rebuilding Trust and Cohesion in European Democracy’ and will focus on empowering and nurturing diverse leaders who will champion inclusive governance, foster equity, and uphold and fortify the essence of democracy in public policy.
Fellows will apply their learnings from the virtual network meetings to brainstorm and identify potential solutions to the Public Policy Challenge, and create policy recommendations.
The Fellowship will begin in March 2025 with two online on-boarding workshops of two hours each.
The virtual meetings will require a time commitment of 90 minutes every six weeks between April and December 2025, taking place in the evenings on the first Tuesday of every month (subject to adjustments).
Fellows will be matched with a mentor from within the PPNVE and Salzburg Global Fellowship networks, and should plan to virtually meet with their mentor for approximately one hour each, at least four times over the course of their 9-month mentoring relationship.
We recommend that Fellows plan to spend at least two hours per month on self-led activities related to their participation in the network, these include: pre-readings or other tasks in preparation for the virtual meetings, reflection time and journaling, writing or blogging, engaging with peers, participating in conferences, events, workshops or networks.
For the in-person session, participants should plan to participate in a four-day long program (October 12th to 16th, 2025), plus travel time to Salzburg in Austria. Salzburg Global can provide an official letter to the Fellow outlining this time commitment for their university or employer. Please note that virtual participation in the in-person program is not possible.
